Trudi becomes an OFI Ambassador

We’re proud to announce that our co-founder, Trudi Jaye, has officially joined Orangutan Foundation International Australia (OFI) as an ambassador.

In this role, Trudi will extend her lifelong mission to protect endangered wildlife and their habitats, inspiring conscious choices in everyday life.

Working closely with OFI, she will raise awareness of environmental devastation, support vital conservation initiatives and engage her community in meaningful action, proving that every small choice can create real impact.

By choosing our palm oil–free skincare, you’re taking a step toward protecting wildlife and their homes.

“Being an ambassador for OFI allows me to support their vital work protecting endangered species like orangutans, Sumatran Tigers, pygmy elephants, rhinos and clouded Leopards. Every small action counts, whether it’s choosing palm oil free skincare or raising awareness about palm oil production”

- TRUDI JAYE

CO-FOUNDER RETREATMENT BOTANICS.

“We are thrilled to welcome Trudi as an Ambassador for Orangutan Foundation International Australia (OFIA). We couldn’t think of a better person to help us raise awareness on behalf of orangutans and all the critically endangered species who share their rainforest home.

To save orangutans we must save the forest and say no to palm oil. Palm oil is such a complex issue. Trudi has a comprehensive knowledge and deep understanding of the palm oil issue and is totally committed to using her platform to support our conservation efforts and inspire more conscious choices.”

- KOBE STEELE

OAM, President/Founder of Orangutan Foundation International Australia

A LOVE THAT SHAPED OUR BRAND

A lifetime of love for animals

Trudi has always been deeply connected to animals. Her love for wildlife and the natural world inspired her to create our skincare range. Ensuring every product does no harm, not only to your skin but to the planet.

Every Retreatment Botanics product is cruelty-free, vegan and 100% palm oil–free, proving that high-performance skincare and conscious living can co-exist beautifully.

CHOOSE PALM OIL FREE

Devastating effects of palm oil plantations

Currently, an estimated 1,000 to 5,000 orangutans are killed each year due to palm oil development. Over the past decade, their population has dropped by 50%, even as plantation land has doubled. Orangutans have lost 90% of their original rainforest and fragmented habitats make survival increasingly difficult.

If deforestation and palm oil expansion continue unchecked, orangutans could face extinction within decades. Beyond orangutans, the clearing and burning of forests threaten countless other species and severely damage the biodiversity of these critical ecosystems.

Meet our fosters

JOJO

When not dive-bombing like a stuntperson, Jojo can be found happily swaying back and forth in one of the tyre hammocks.

KOLING

Rescued from a palm oil plantation, sweet little Koling loves to mimic his caregivers and is inseparable from his best buddy, Sugar.

KRISTIN

Kristin adores bananas so much, she’s always found headfirst in the banana basket with her bum in the air!

CRYSTAL

Crystal loves to tumble around with longtime playmate Vida. The two stick closely to each other in the forest and love to play hide and seek.

CARMEN

On the way to forest school, Carmen always walks beside her caregivers. She spots the best “markisas” (passionfruit) and enjoys them as a snack on her way.

AMELIA

'A lady' is the best way to describe Amelia. Big eyes, a delicate nose and best of all, a content expression that could melt the hardest of hearts.

JEFFREY JNR

If he’s not in the playground or splashing in muddy pools, he is ensconced in the surrounding canopy of the Learning Forest.

HOLLAND

One of Hollands favourite things is to share the sloppy mud. She takes great delight in smearing big handfuls of mud all over her caregiver Ibu Anting’s legs!

KOBE

As soon as Kobe emerges from her sleeping enclosure, she immediately seizes anything within reach. It doesn’t matter what grass, mud or sand art.

Become a foster

Currently at the OFI Care Centre in Kalimantan there are over 260 displaced or orphaned orangutans. Without the OFI Care Centre, these beautiful, gentle apes would be homeless and would have no chance of survival.

Raising money to purchase and protect the orangutans’ home, goes part and parcel with the invaluable and life saving work being done in the Care Centre. We think of it as a half-way house for orangutans, until they are old enough to be released back into the wild.
