New year is fast approaching and with it SUMMER. It's a great time to be out, celebrate, and to truly enjoy life. Our health can get a little out of balance while we try to juggle our life from event to event. It can be tempting to skip a few workouts and eat whatever is offered to us. Too many refined foods can result in inflammation, clogged pores and even skin breakouts. Suddenly we find ourselves not looking and feeling our best & going on some big crazy diet.

Why not weave in delicious cleansing foods into the festive season to keep your skin clear all summer long. If you know you have a party at night, add some juices & salads into the day. Your body & skin will thank you for it!

Here’s a super easy superfood smoothie, salad and juice to give your body and skin what they need while gently cleansing and cooling... Enjoy!

Detoxifying your body

INGREDIENTS
500ml coconut water
1 lemon (including rind)
1 - 2 handfuls of mixed berries
1 apple sliced
1 tsp plant-based MSM power (improves skin health & complexion - find it at your local health food shop)
1 handful of ice (optional)

METHOD
Blend all ingredients together except for the MSM powder. Once smooth, pour into a glass then add the MSM and stir through. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS
1 small broccoli head, rinsed and cut in small florets
1 zucchini, shaved
1 avocado, peeled and cut in cubes
1 bunch watercress, rinsed
1 small red onion, cut in thin rings
½ lemon, juice only (you can also use lime)
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
½ tsp Dijon mustard
½ tsp sea salt
1 tbsp chia seeds
¼ cup toasted almonds, crushed

METHOD
Add the vegetables in a large bowl and toss to combine.
Add the olive oil, lemon juice, mustard and sea salt in a small bowl and whisk to obtain a creamy dressing.
Pour the dressing over the salad, add chia seeds and almonds and mix to combine.
Set aside for 5-10 minutes for the flavors to combine, then serve!
